Accommodation
As you enter The Old Dairy it feels like a typical Welsh Cottage full of character and charm with a breakfast kitchen room at the heart of the ground floor and giving access to a dining room and ground floor bedroom with en-suite and a house bathroom. As you climb the stairs you begin to realise there is something different about this traditional Welsh Cottage as the stairs open out into a large living room with stunning views through the floor to ceiling window, as you wander out on to the balcony it is hard to keep your breath as the glorious West Angle Bay Beach comes into view. Also on the second floor are two further bedrooms and a shower room.
In addition to the main property is The Stable, an attractive stone conversion adjoining The Old Dairy and itself comprising of living room, kitchen diner, two bedrooms and bathroom. Currently used as a successful holiday let, The Stable has been described by one happy holiday maker as a place to ‘restore your soul on the edge of Heaven’, we don’t feel we really need to say anymore!
Outside
Sitting in around an acre of its own land, which is currently mainly split into two paddocks. The Sea Paddock measures around half an acre and has wonderful Sea views, the current owner retains the use of this paddock for her private use, while the second paddock is offered to her guests staying in The Stable. On the opposite side of The Old Dairy is a small courtyard style garden, a lovely quiet sun trap perfect for a spot of lunch.
Seller Insight
“It’s true to say that I had coveted this property for nearly half a century and we managed to finally buy it at the third time of trying nearly 12 years ago. Located on a little hill overlooking the beach and the sea, the views are truly exceptional and it’s an absolutely stunning place to live,” says the owner.
“My grandson summed up his holiday here in just one word which was ‘freedom’ as the children can safely run around in the paddock and explore the sandy beach and rockpools. Sometimes it feels like I’ve travelled back in time by 200 years as I pick up my basket and find myself walking along the cliff top just taking in the views whilst filling my basket with sloes, blackberries, mushrooms, shells, and driftwood. I then walk back down through the field towards the glorious view of the water and my pale pink cottage. That’s the magic of living here.”
“I enjoy visiting the excellent beach café as its clean and organised and has the most delicious food. I admire their environmentally friendly approach too. The Hibernia pub in the village has some great music evenings and they supported the community very well during lockdown as they delivered shopping to our doors. All my guests are assured of a lovely evening in this friendly pub. I’m keeping my fingers crossed too that the famous Old Point House pub will reopen next year– it’s said that the fire never went out during its 300 years and we’re all excited by the thought of this characterful favourite opening its doors once more.”
“My grounds of approximately 1 acre are mainly left to nature. Countless birds make their homes in the hedges and I often see rabbits and the occasional badger or two. Some of my favourite moments are those spent in my ‘sea paddock’ where I walk up the slope with my book, glasses, and sun cream and I’ll just while away the afternoon reading or watching the views. Perfect.”
“The property had previously been run as holiday lets before we moved in, so we were the first people in a long time to use it as a family home. We made some changes to accommodate for this, including raising the roof on the dairy and we also added an upstairs bathroom and huge sitting room with a balcony. It’s the perfect spot to sit and watch the sea and the sunsets. Living here has been a dream for me.”
