Dating from about 1720, The Mill House is a charming and beautifully presented, Grade II listed property comprising a converted water mill on three floors and attached, two-storey house, which are built as a single range in stone with the house covered with colour-washed render. Identified as Cloton Mill in Thomas Hardy's short story “Destiny and a Blue Cloak” of 1874, the mill has been imaginatively incorporated into the main house to enable it to be used as one single dwelling or with a very generous, self-contained annexe on three floors. The Mill House is in a beautiful and private setting on the edge of the small, rural village of Netherbury in the attractive valley formed by the River Brit.
