Delightful original stone built railway cottage circ. 1876 occupies a magnificent and secluded Dales location enjoying dramatic views. Situated in approx. 1 acre gardens with a further 5 acres of triangular rough grazing land. The cottage has 3 bedrooms and 2 reception rooms. Magnificent views.

The cottage was built around 1876 and was
originally built for railway workers constructing the Settle-Carlisle line. The property is situated on a generous site, in a rural but not isolated position in the area known as Aisgill, in the Mallerstang valley. The Mallerstang valley is a hidden gem with spectacular landscapes and local landmarks such as the Wild Boar Fell and Mallerstang Edge, beautiful bird & wildlife and the recent re-introduction of red squirrels. This property offers spacious accommodation but could now do with updating. There is further potential to extend into the loft or to the side if required (Planning permission would need to be obtained)

Directions
From Kirkby Stephen follow the B6259 Road southwards out of the town, passing through Nateby and Outhgill, for about seven miles to reach Aisgill. The property will be found on the left-hand side. Alternatively from Sedbergh follow the A684 Hawes road to Garsdale Head. Continue to the Moorcock Inn and turn left onto the B6259 Kirkby Stephen road. Follow the road for about a mile and a half to reach Aisgill and the property will be found on the right.

Location
1 Aisgill Moor Cottages is situated midway between Hawes and Kirkby Stephen in the valley of Mallerstang, in the historic Settle Carlisle Railway Conservation Area with spectacular views over the valley. The property is remote, yet well linked to the market towns of Hawes just 8 miles and Kirkby Stephen just 8 miles away, the Settle Carlisle railway and Moorcock pub are also close by. The property is 1160 feet above sea level and is the last house on the Cumbria and Yorkshire borders with unspoilt open countryside.

The Mallerstang valley is a hidden gem with spectacular landscapes and local landmarks such as the Wild Boar Fell and Mallerstang Edge, beautiful bird & wildlife and the recent re-introduction of red squirrels.

Outside
Externally the property has an on road parking area, small formal gated front garden and gate onto a private parking area for many vehicles. The land and gardens extend to approximately 6 acres and is split into two lots with about 1 acre to the side and rear of the house and the balance immediately to the South (on the same side of the road going back towards Garsdale Head in the form of a triangular shaped rough grazing field). Single detached garage. 3 timber sheds, oil fired boiler and tank. Natural garden with orchids, soldiers buttons and fox gloves. Cottage garden, fruit trees and greenhouse.

Services
