A well-appointed extended cottage, enjoying a tucked away and yet accessible location amidst sheltered and secluded gardens of about 1 acre.

Enjoying a delightfully tucked away and secluded setting at the end of a no through private drive, Honeysuckle Cottage sits amidst mature and sheltered gardens and grounds extending to about 1 acre.

The original cottage, understood to date from the 17th century benefits from a substantial adjoining barn style extension, adding flexibility to the accommodation. This space features vaulted ceilings and comprises of a master bedroom suite with a dressing room, fully fitted luxury bathroom and a large multi-purpose leisure space. To the rear there are two sets of bi-fold doors opening onto a sheltered terrace, from where there are lovely views up the garden.

The original cottage has been well maintained and is presented to a high and atmospheric standard throughout, displaying exposed timbers and open brick fireplaces and a well equipped kitchen, which has subsequently been extended into the dining room forming a fabulous living/sitting/dining area with an electric four oven AGA.

On the first floor there are four further bedrooms, making a total of five, together with a family bathroom. In all the accommodation extends to some 2,300 sq. ft.

OUTSIDE

Five bar gates access a wide parking and turning sweep to the front of the cottage with access to a double garage/workshop behind which is a potting shed and greenhouse.

GARDENS

Honeysuckle Cottage nestles in a valley setting. To the side and the rear is a large garden sheltered on all sides by mature trees and hedgerows. To the rear of the house is a pretty terrace with brick retaining walls and steps up into the garden itself. At the top of the grassed area is an outbuilding range, providing storage and stables which have been used previously as stables for pony sized animals, but have the potential for garden office or leisure use. The gardens are surrounded by arable farmland and there are attractive views from the top of the garden.
In all the property extends to about 1 acre.

LOCATION

Honeysuckle Cottage enjoys a convenient and accessible location tucked away at the end of a private track driveway on the edge of Barking. The village is just 2 miles from the small town of Needham Market which, with its picturesque High Street, offers a wide range of day to day commercial and shopping facilities. Further facilities are available in Stowmarket (5 miles) and the county town of Ipswich (5 miles). Both provide regular mainline rail services to London Liverpool Street station taking 85 and 70 minutes respectively, whilst the A14 dual carriageway, which bypasses Needham Market provides a direct link to Bury St Edmunds, Cambridge, The Midlands, as well as Stansted Airport (via the M11) and in the other direction the A12 which links in turn to London’s M25. Recreationally there is a wide choice of opportunities in the area, including golf courses on the edge of Ipswich, Hadleigh and Stowmarket.
