the common are a childrens play area, Jubilee woodland, and footpaths and bridleways. It is a common for all seasons. The village has a primary school and an active village hall. To the west of the village is a farm shop and café, with a village shop in the neighbouring village of North Elmham.

The market towns of Dereham and Fakenham are similar distance away with supermarkets, a range of shopping and amenities with the Georgian town of Holt approximately 15 miles with independent shopping and Greshams school. The North Norfolk coast at Wells-next the- Sea is 15 miles.
