Directions
From Kendal town centre follow the A685 Appleby signs. Leaving the periphery of Kendal, with a Superstore complex on the left, continue in the direction of Grayrigg.
Passing over the two railway bridges, the entrance to Oldfield is the first drive on the left, just after the road junction signposted Lambrigg.
Continue along the drive and Oldfield Cottage is the second property on the right.
Location
The property forms part of an attractive cluster of just four dwellings located at the head of a private lane just off the A685 Kendal to Appleby Road in the scattered rural community of Docker, about half a mile from the village of Grayrigg. The setting of the property is highly picturesque and the views towards the Whinfell range of Lakeland Fells is both dramatic and spectacular.
The nearby village of Grayrigg has a strong sense of community; here there is a popular primary school, a church and a village hall. The surrounding area is a delight to explore, either on foot or bike.
The property is a short distance from the historic market town of Kendal, renowned as the gateway to the Lake District. The property is also convenient for the M6 motorway and for Oxenholme Railway Station on the main London to Glasgow West Coast main line.

At the far end of the yard between the two stable blocks a gate opens into the field which slopes gently away from the stable blocks towards the far southerly boundary, the land is divided into four paddocks. An enclosed paddock is adjacent to the exercise area. Towards the end of the access drive is a triangular plantation of Norway Spruce of approx. 0.3 acres.
