Description

Listed as being Grade II of Architectural or Historical Interest, The Old Vicarage is believed to date back to the mid 16th century with Georgian and Victorian additions. Offering great potential for further enhancements, the house benefits from beautifully proportioned and light-filled rooms over three floors with both internal and external access to a self-contained, two bedroom cottage. A central reception hall includes a fine staircase and to the south lies a large study with lovely views over the property's gardens and leads to a cloakroom and store room. Pride of place goes to the fabulous drawing room which enjoys the afternoon sun with full-height sash windows overlooking the gardens and grounds and the room features exposed timber flooring and high ceilings, complemented by an attractive marble fireplace. There is a lovely sitting room at the front of the property with south and east elevations with wall panelling, exposed floor boards and a red-brick fireplace. The kitchen overlooks the front gardens with views towards the church and includes an AGA (unconnected) and a comprehensive range of base and eye-level units. Off the kitchen is a utility room, boot room and further cloakroom.

Over the next two floors there are six bedrooms and two bath/shower rooms. The principal bedroom has a lovely marble fireplace complemented by exposed pine floorboards.

The adjoining cottage can be accessed from the first floor or from a separate side access on the ground floor, with its own parking area. The cottage comprises a fitted kitchen and dining room with a first floor sitting room, two bedrooms and a bathroom.
