Pretty period cottage with garden and annexe.

Description

Alde Cottage is a delightful and pretty house with wonderful views, private and mature garden, studio and a fantastic detached annexe. The heart of the building is believed to date to the 17th century and it retains many period features.

Internally, Alde Cottage is light filled and full of charm. Entering the reception hall, the sitting room and handsome dining room are off to the right. The sitting room is an especially attractive double aspect room with exposed beams and wood burning stove.

The bespoke kitchen, with larder cupboard, solid wood work surfaces and pamment floor, leads through to the breakfast room, an exceptional, light space with French windows leading out to the garden; beyond which is the utility and WC.

Off the first floor landing, which has beautiful studwork and an arched window, is the principal bedroom with an en suite providing a bath and separate shower, a further three double bedrooms and a family bathroom, uniquely accessed via a charming curved door.

ANNEXE
Alde Cottage benefits from a brilliant one bedroom detached annexe, which is presently used as a successful holiday let but which could also be used as guest accommodation of for multi-generational living, subject to planning consent. Revenue for 2021-21 (10 months) is approximately £18,000.

Approached via a partially glazed front door, the annexe has a bright, open plan kitchen/reception room. The annexe bedroom is light filled and has an en suite bathroom. French windows from both the reception room and bedroom lead out to a private terrace garden.

GARDENS
Alde Cottage has beautiful, mature and secluded gardens. To the front of the house is an area of lawn overlooking superb, gently undulating field views. At the rear is a delightful and spacious country garden with flowerbeds and shrubs. At the end of the formal garden is a vegetable patch and chicken run.

A marvellous garden studio offers an excellent entertaining space or potential home office/study.

Set back from the road and approached via a five bar gate, Alde Cottage has a shingle drive with parking space for several cars.
