Detached village house with large 0.36 acre garden

Description

Boxworth End is the western end of the village which features many period and newer properties lining the road in to the main part of the village. No 76 is a detached brick house with replacement sash pattern double glazed windows to the front elevation under a slated roof.

The house dates from the mid nineteenth century and has good accommodation arranged over two floors with a large single storey wing to the rear housing the fitted kitchen which features wooden work surfaces and a convenient walk-in larder. At the far end is a breakfast room with French doors leading out onto a paved terrace.

Beyond the breakfast area is a further reception room currently used as a playroom which could provide a further study/ family room. This in turn connects to the weatherboarded garage/ workshop with electric car charging point.

The main sitting room to the front has exposed brick flooring and an open fireplace with an original painted surround with mantel with dentilled detail below and French doors leading out onto the terrace to the rear of the house. The study beyond this room has built in “L” shaped desks and shelving to one wall. The other reception to the front of the house has a blocked former fireplace and original built in cupboards to either side. This room is adjacent to the ground floor cloaks/ shower room so can be used as an occasional bedroom when required.

At first floor level there are four bedrooms, the fourth is also accessed via a door from bedroom 2 so could function as a dressing room. The family bathroom has a large airing cupboard with double doors and fitted shelving together with a coloured suite with panelled bath pedestal basin and w.c.

Outside
76 Boxworth End is a set back from the road with two areas of grass and a shingled parking space for one car. To the side of the house is a shared drive which leads up to wooden gates which open into a shingled parking area and the garage workshop. To the rear of the house is a large paved terrace which is quite private and provides space for outdoor seating etc.

Beyond the garage a crushed limestone path winds its way into the rest of the plot. Flanked by grassed areas and a number of shrubs and trees the gardens open out into a large rectangular space, laid to lawn with hedged boundaries. The path continues up to the end of the garden where there is a timber summer house with double glazed windows and doors and power and light laid on together with an internet connection allowing the space to be used as an office from home or entertainment space. Beyond this building is a trampoline sunk into the ground.
