Historic Grade II Listed country home built in a Strawberry Hill Gothic style in a glorious village setting in extensive grounds and gardens with adjoining paddock.

Description

The current house it is believed was built in approximately 1700, although there is evidence and history of earlier houses on the site and certainly back to the 1500s. This wonderful Grade II Listed country home was re-modelled in circa 1816-19 in a Strawberry Hill Gothic style.

In 1753 the house was purchased by the Need family, hosiers in Nottingham, who had financed Arkwright. It was previously owned by the Grundy Family, and John Grundy was High Sheriff of the County.

An extra wing (now West Hall) was added in 1836.

During the war, Bleasby Hall was occupied by the Wiltshire Yeomanry under the command of Lord Weymouth and a bomb was dropped in the paddock in 1941 leaving a large crater.

After the war, Bleasby Hall was divided into East Hall and West Hall, and East Hall was sold in 1948.

It has been owned by the current family since 1972.
