A fantastic block of land featuring young
amenity woodland and useful grazing,
extending to approximately 77.44 acres.

The land at Gorthfield extends to approximately 77.44 acres of amenity woodland and permanent grazing land. The land is classified as grade 3.2 on the national scale for land capability by the James Hutton Institute. The land lies between 104 metres and 132 metres above sea level.

Approximately 51 acres were planted with mixed native broadleaf woodland under a grant scheme in 2005. This woodland has established in areas and there is scope for further planting within some of the enclosures. The planted enclosures feature great biodiversity supporting the growth of native species and wildlife.

There is a very useful shed in the Northeastern part of the land which measures approximately 70ft x 30ft. This is of steel portal frame construction with timber cladding and corrugated roofing. The interior of the building features recently installed windows and a log burner at one end.

There is approximately 21.55 acres of grazing land which is capable of producing a crop of hay. Approximately 4.44 acres features peat of varying depths with a fairly good coverage of Sphagnum Moss. There may be potential for small scale peatland restoration projects.

The Land at Gorthfield is located approximately 2.5 miles to the north of the village of New Pitsligo and about 10.5 miles south west of the coastal town of Fraserburgh. New Pitlsligo offers local services with a wider range of shops and facilities being found in Fraserburgh.
