Glan Afon is situated just beyond Pwllheli on the scenic Llyn Peninsula within close proximity to an attractive coastline and the popular seaside resorts of Abersoch and Criccieth. Glan Afon is a handsome Georgian country house which was originally commissioned by the nearby Broom Hall Estate as residence for the Estate Manager. Dating in part from circa 1820 with later additions. The house has a particularly attractive façade to the north & west fronts with rendered elevations incorporating distinctive sash windows beneath a slate roof. In recent years Glan Afon has operated as a successful holiday lettings destination and the generous 5 bedroom accommodation, capable of sleeping up to 14 people, has been ideal for large groups and family gatherings.

Internally Glan Afon retains the charm and character of the original house with well proportioned rooms and attractive detailing including feature fireplaces, wood boarded floors, moulded ceiling cornices, picture rails and deep door architraves. An open fronted storm porch leads into the reception hall with staircase, attractive fireplace, window seat and built-in bookshelves. Off the reception hall is the drawing room which is a particularly light room with triple aspect, Minster style fireplace, bay window and deep architraves & panelling to the windows. Beyond the immediate garden is an attractive parcel of mature woodland with a path leading to a style which provides access into a neighbour’s fields with footbridge across the river leading to the beach beyond the railway line. The wood contains Scots Pine, Oak, Beech and Sycamore underplanted with rhododendron and Spring bulbs including snowdrops and blue bells.

To the rear of the house is an attractive cobbled courtyard accessed via solid double gates from the front drive. The courtyard is a sheltered sun trap with seating area around which is a useful range of traditional stone outbuildings housing the oil central heating boiler, outside WC, playroom and a series of domestic stores, garden sheds and garaging.
