Description

A charming attached period cottage dating back to circa 1865 and now on the market for the first time in 55 years.

Jersey Cottage enjoys a tucked away position lying to the rear of Barn Platt, just a short distance from the heart of the village, on an large established plot of about 1.1 acres in total.

This is a well loved family home and our clients have undertaken many improvements over the years, but there is now scope for further updating , or reconfiguring of the accommodation to suit individual requirements.

There is a lovely southerly outlook over the garden from the majority of rooms and the interlinking principal reception rooms are full of character with good ceiling heights, a small study off and a fireplace.

The well proportioned kitchen/breakfast room is complete with an Aga and links through to a useful office, currently used as a ground floor bedroom.

The garden is a notable feature, well-screened to the boundaries and arranged over two levels, with a gravel courtyard and steps up to a large lawn with established trees and shrubs, including a beech, a weeping willow, a Bramley apple tree and is planted with spring bulbs. Beyond, is a small meadow creating a lovely backdrop.

The property is accessed via a private drive from the lane leading to a detached garage and parking and turning space.
