Bosham Hoe is probably one of the finest waterside locations south of London, yet is only 1 hour 15 minutes from the capital by train from Havant. Cultural activities include the nationally renowned Festival Theatre, Pallant House Gallery and the annual Festivities centred on the Cathedral. There are several excellent schools within the local area.

Sailing is a premier pastime in Chichester Harbour with the two main marinas centred on Birdham and sailing clubs at Bosham, Itchenor, Dell Quay and Emsworth, where gastro pubs and restaurants can also be found. The Solent, The Isle of Wight and the New Forest can be easily reached by sea. Nearby, the Goodwood Estate offers an airfield, private golf and country club and hotel with tennis, gym and spa. The "Glorious" Goodwood racecourse provides excellent flat racing throughout the season and for motor enthusiasts there is the famous Festival of Speed and the Revival meeting. Fontwell Park provides jump racing and West Wittering's Blue Flag Beach is also nearby.
