Trow Hall is set in about 33 acres of established formal gardens and parkland grounds and includes two self-contained apartments.

The house was built in 1902 by the renowned local architect RW Sampson who designed many of the substantial properties in the Sidmouth area. The approach is fantastic, up a long drive through mature trees, arriving at an elevated position with far-reaching westerly views. The proportions and layout of the house are typical of its era, with high ceilings, generous entertaining areas and grand features.

The reception hall creates a wonderful first impression and sets the tone for the rest of the house. Immediately in front of the house is a formal terraced garden gently sloping away towards a large area of flat lawn (which used to be a tennis court) with views of Sidford and the surrounding countryside beyond.

The additional land protects both the privacy and the views, and the house is surrounded by 32.77 acres, some of which is pasture that is currently let out to a local farmer for haylage, and there is also some woodland. Further outbuildings include a stable and some disused farm buildings.

Trow Hall stands proudly in an elevated position above the Sid Valley with magnificent far-reaching views over the surrounding countryside.

The nearest beach is about two and a half miles from Trow Hall in Sidmouth on the Jurassic Coast, which is a Unesco World Heritage Site. The beach is a mixture of sand and shingle, surrounded by magnificent cliffs. Sidmouth is an attractive town with an abundance of regency architecture
and a good selection of amenities, including a Waitrose supermarket just outside the town centre and less than two miles from Trow Hall.

The surrounding area is well known for the quality of its schooling, with a number of highly regarded schools nearby including Colyton Grammar (Trow Hall is within the catchment area), Exeter School and The Maynard.
