Located in a tranquil and beguiling creekside setting possessing approximately 300 feet of river frontage leading to the Camel estuary is St Mary's, a truly unique and inspiring five bedroom detached residence encompassed by approximately 2.3 acres of gardens, grounds and woodland.

Significantly, St Mary's boasts a boat house and natural slipway to the foreshore, over which there is a floating wooden pontoon offering the most fabulous waterside lifestyle with access by boat to many local ports including Padstow and Rock. This prime waterfront residence is located on the edge of the picturesque hamlet of Little Petherick, just three miles from vibrant Padstow with its boutique shops, cafes and esteemed restaurants. Some of the UK's best beaches are within a short drive and the famous Camel Trail is within a short walk.

St Mary's dates from 1904 and was extended in the late 1980's/early 1990's, more recently having been extensively refurbished offering approximately 2,700 square feet of generously proportioned accommodation with an eclectic mix of styles, colour schemes, period features and contemporary intervention.

A truly individual property, St Mary's is hidden in its own secluded valley at the end of a private drive with spectacular views of Little Petherick Creek in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - a haven of peace and tranquillity.

The accommodation features solid oak and slate flooring, aluminium windows, bi-fold doors, a red brick and oak clad exterior façade, a wood burner within the huge lounge, bar, designer kitchen with fully integrated appliances and contemporary flush cabinets. The ground floor is complete with snug/cinema room, cloakroom and separate utility room. The first floor, with split level landing, has five double bedrooms, two en-suite bathrooms and a family bathroom-each finished in their unique style. Views of the creek are perfectly framed from many of the rooms yet privacy and seclusion are in abundance.

St Mary's is nestled amongst 2.3 acres of terraced valley garden with an extensive array of broadleaf woodland. This includes species of oak, sycamore, ash, hawthorn and elm as well as a large Canadian pine, twisted willow, weeping willows and acers. A gravelled terrace wraps around the front and side of the building with a Scandinavian log fired hot tub located on a lower level, perfectly positioned to enjoy the views of the water and natural surroundings. Of further note is a recently constructed steel framed barn which can be utilised as a tennis court, storage facility, for boat storage or a variety of other uses. Services to the property include mains water and electricity, oil fired central heating and private drainage.

There is a certain majesty and tranquillity surrounding St Mary's and we at Jackie Stanleys recommend a visit to witness it for yourself.

Little Petherick is a lovely hamlet steeped in history in the wooded valley of Little Petherick Creek, a tidal inlet of the Camel Estuary. The hamlet is situated just two miles from the historic and picturesque fishing town of Padstow, located on the North Coast of Cornwall offering an extensive range of cafes, public houses and restaurants, none more so than Paul Ainsworth's Michelin starred No.6 and of course Rick Steins esteemed Seafood restaurant. An area of outstanding natural beauty, there are several sandy beaches within 2 to 4 miles as well as the championship golf course at Trevose. The town also has a supermarket and excellent Primary School.

For more extensive shopping facilities, the thriving market town of Wadebridge is just 5 miles distant and offers a fine selection of shops and amenities including a sports centre, cinema, a primary and secondary school and a selection of supermarkets. The nearest mainline station is Bodmin Parkway which is approximately 18 miles distant with the nearest airport at Newquay approximately 12 miles away. The lane at the front of The Old Farmhouse leads to a footpath which leads to Petherick Creek, The Saints Way and the Camel Trail, a dream for walkers and cyclists alike.

To find St Mary's, leave Padstow and follow the A389 for approximately 1.5 miles passing Trevisker Garden Centre along the way. Turn left at the signpost to Wadebridge, St Issey and Little Petherick and head down to the bottom of the hill. Just before the bridge, turn left by the village hall. And follow the lane to the end passing the car park and houses. The entrance to St Mary's will be found at the end of the lane and the driveway bears up to the left.
