Rye Farm sits at the end of a private track on the outskirts of the market town of Abingdon. Rye Farm itself was formally part of the Morrell's family estate. There has been some historical comment that the the property lies on or near the palace where Anglo Saxon kings farmed, and indeed, the village of Culham was a very important place historically, enjoying special privileges throughout the middle ages partly because of its close connection with the Abingdon Abbey. There are extensive footpaths and bridleways in the surrounding area with lovely Thameside walks to hand. The market town of Abingdon has a comprehensive choice for everyday shopping and sporting facilities with the city of Oxford within a short drive.
