DESCRIPTION
Bogrie originates to the 15th century and was originally a tower. Bogrie Tower is one of the oldest inhabited dwelling houses in Dumfriesshire. The main features are the arches in the main walls which are relics of the “cross-passage” through which the stock passed into the central courtyard.
In the 1860’s was partly dismantled and converted into a two storey house and latterly extend with the addition of the sun room which has been blended onto the south elevation in order to take advantage of the panoramic views. The main house has an archway door, two date stones and many original features throughout including the stone fire places, the oak and stone lintels and the receded windows. The main living space has the original fire place which has the addition of a modern multi fuel stove, exposed stone work and staircase leading to the first floor where there are three bedrooms with the primary bedroom having en-suite facilities. Then a further family bathroom. From the kitchen/breakfast room you can access the garden and leads through to the boot room and a further ground floor bedroom, shower room and office.

From Dumfries take the A76 north to Holywood, and then take the B725 signposted to Dunscore and Moniaive. On entering Dunscore, bear left at the war memorial and follow the road to the hamlet of Milton. Then take the right hand turn signposted Corsock and follow this road for about 1¾ miles and immediately before the hump back bridge (white painted stones at side of road) take the private drive on the right to Bogrie. Follow this driveway until you reach Bogrie.
