The nearby market towns of Ludlow and Leominster have a wider range of facilities and train stations on the Manchester to Cardiff line with the Cathedral City of Hereford to the south.

There are wonderful walks and glorious countryside in the surrounding area, including Yatton Hill and Croft Ambrey which borders with National Trust parkland at Croft Castle.
