Location....Location....Location ! Situated in the foothills of the Preselis with panoramic views of the Neolithic sites of Foel Drygarn to the east and Foel Feddau in the west and just 6 miles (as the crow flies) to the popular town of Newport, we present to market a superbly positioned 5 bedroom character farmhouse set in just under 2 ACRES of pastureland with a stone barn ripe for conversion (subject to any consents required) and with NO IMMEDIATE NEIGHBOURS it is positioned well off the highway down a 420m stone track. The holding is positioned literally on the edge (but not in) the Pembrokeshire National Park and is surrounded by farmland. Although requiring some work in places this is a substantial farmhouse with a huge lounge and master bedroom and now requires a new owner to come along and move it to another level. The location of this holding is one of the best you'll find........if you like privacy, lots of outside and inside space with views to die for and you dont mind some work then you must view this property as it is really quite special.

Note To Buyers

This is originally an old farmhouse with a later large extension undertaken by our client some 25+ years ago. There are parts of the building that now need some work including roof flashings to the conservatory, chimney flashings and various other bits and pieces so please do not waste our clients time if you want/or are expecting a pristine house with no work to do as you will be disappointed. Old solid stone farmhouses by their very nature do need care and attention so if you want a pristine property with no work please buy a modern/new house.

Historical Note

In Feb 2021 the BBC 2 showed a documentary (check out BBC I Player) about the origins of Stonehenge and the archeologists have deduced that the original bluestones at Stonehenge were originally erected over 5000 yrs ago at a place called Waun Mawn in Pembrokeshire and then several hundred years later they were dismantled and moved to where Stonehenge is today.
Waun Mawn is just 4.30 miles (as the crow flies) from this property.(see picture on details) which the writer finds particularly fascinating and would be of particular interest to those buyers who enjoy local Neolithic history.
The original farmhouse is reputed to be one of the oldest houses in the area dating back hundreds of years and has been mentioned in various books. Interestingly the new owner would acquire grazing rights on the nearby hillside which of course is a reflection of its age.

Directions

From Cardigan take the A478 Narberth/Tenby road and proceed until you reach Crymych. As you enter the village, take the right turn sign-posted Eglwyswrw and proceed past Jewsons and out of the village.. Turn left towards Crosswell/Eglwyswrw (with post box on the corner). Stay on this road for 1.5 miles. You will see the white picket fence of The Old Swan on your right and the track to Penrallt Fach is on the left-hand side. It is approx 1/3 of a mile long and leads to the property.
