Old Shoreswood Hall is a Grade II listed building. It is built using an attractive random stone with dressed quoins, windows, doors and plinths under tiled and slated roofs. The eastern end of the house is thought to date from circa 1810, with the west wing constructed circa 1850. The study/home office was added in recent years by the current owners, giving an extra dimension to the house and the option of a sixth bedroom. The main accommodation is arranged over two floors with the principal bedroom found on the first floor and two additional bedrooms on the second. Of particular note is the sizeable drawing room and the large number of windows and doors which bring the 'outside in' and the 'inside out'. They also provide a flood of natural light into the property and truly make the most of the views. (see floor plans for room layout and dimensions).

Gardens & grounds
Two gravelled driveways lead to the hall, terminating in a large gravel parking area. The garden is centred on the lawn which is surrounded by shrubs and herbaceous borders and to the west of the house is a small copse.
The flagged terraces are linked by a pathway. In total Old Shoreswood Hall extends to approximately 25.69 acres of which about 23 acres is currently in arable production (but remains in-hand).

Old Shoreswood Hall is situated in an outstanding rural location, positioned just a short distance from the dramatic Northumberland coast, approximately six miles south west of Berwick-upon-Tweed.
The historic, fortified market town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, lying on the border between England and Scotland, provides a wide range of local retail facilities and services. The main east coast train line stops in Berwick from where there are regular services to both Edinburgh and Newcastle upon Tyne (both approximately 55 minutes) as well as London King's Cross (approximately 3½ hours).
Locally there are a number of schooling options, with primary schools, middle schools and secondary schools in Norham, Horncliff Scremerston, Spittal and Berwick-upon-Tweed. Just outside Berwick is Longridge Towers School, a private school taking children from the ages of three to eighteen.
The A1 provides excellent vehicular access to the north and south, ensuring that the cities of Edinburgh and Newcastle and their international airports are within commuting distance.
Old Shoreswood Hall is well located for a wide range of leisure activities. North Northumberland is well known for its striking coastline. Nearby are the beautiful beaches of Cocklawburn, Goswick and Cheswick Sands. Goswick Links Golf Club is widely recognised as one of the top golf courses in Northumberland; this 'James Braid' designed masterpiece hosts regional qualifying tournaments for the Open Championship.
The Scottish border is approximately four miles to the north so the popular border towns of Kelso and Melrose are within easy reach. For the walking
enthusiast the Cheviot Hills and the Northumberland National Park provide
endless opportunities in spectacular countryside. Holy Island (Lindisfarne) and the castles of Bamburgh and Alnwick are all within striking distance of Old Shoreswood Hall.
