Wigham

A traditional Devon farmstead between Dartmoor and Exmoor, which has been developed to include the original farmhouse and an attached comfortable letting cottage, together with gardens, grounds, and paddock.

Wigham is now a small rural settlement just north of the mid Devon village of Morchard Bishop. The settlement was originally a single farmstead but now comprises the house itself and two other traditional cottages and is surrounded by rolling countryside. The elevated south facing site provides wonderful views over the immediate valley with the rolling countryside beyond.

The original Mid17th century Grade II listed farmhouse was extended in the 20th century and the adjoining shippon barn converted to Wigham Cottage.

The house and cottages stand surrounded by simple south facing gardens with a terrace along the south side of the house. From the front of the house steps lead down to the enclosed swimming pool area with paving surround.

The entrance drive arrives up from the valley bottom and continues on past the house to a parking area. Either side of the drive there are areas of paddock running down to the Tatepath Lake, a small brook.
