• A house site with full planning to construct an architects designed 4-bedroom house together with a detached garage
• Foundations and vehicular access track installed | fully serviced site with mains electricity and water supply
• Land including 18.44 acres of rough grazing, heather clad rocky knowes, pine and ancient oak woodland and rocky foreshore
• Breath-taking views towards Eigg, Rhum, Muck, Cuillins of Skye, mountains of Roshven and Ardnish Peninsula
• Over 700 metres of foreshore and a secluded sandy beach a few minutes' walk away
• Once in a lifetime opportunity to own a private peninsula and build a dream coastal retreat.

Commando Rock (also known as Creag na Speireig) is situated in a prominent coastal position at Roshven and is accessed off the main road (A861). The access road into the site uses the original “old road” which pre-dates the A861 and formed one of the estate roads when Roshven was a substantial estate and then climbs up over a hill along the private road to this secret spot. As you drive down towards the house site the views are outstanding in all directions from the distinctive peaks of Roshven and An Stac to the seaward vistas.

The house site sits in an elevated position close to the rocky foreshore and has 270 degree sea views which are stunning in all directions.

Full planning consent was granted in December 2000 for the construction of an architects designed 4-bedroom house with accommodation proposed over two floors as follows:
large kitchen, dining room, family room, drawing room, sun room, 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and utility room. The house design was to complement the existing estate buildings with romantic curved towers and turrets. It was specifically orientated to maximise the magnificent views.

From the summit, the views are breath-taking towards Eigg, Rhum, Muck and the Cuillins of Skye as to the mountains of Roshven (882m), An Stac (814m) and the fabulously remote Ardnish Peninsula as well as to Goat Island which guards the entrance to Loch Ailort and has a vitrified Fort on top.

The grounds extend to 18.44 acres in total and comprises of a couple of rocky heather clad knowes above the house site together with rough grazing, pine trees, ancient oak woodland and a rocky foreshore extending to about 715 metres.

The peninsula is bookmarked by two different but equally lovely beaches. A pathway through ancient oak woodland and filled with bluebells and narcissi in spring, leads to a perfect hidden and private white sandy beach, ideal for swimming. The property boundary on one side is this beach which is called Sandy Bay and you can scramble all around the rocks passing otter playgrounds and idyllic fishing spots until you can reach a romantic rocky cove on the other boundary.

It was always the vendors dream to build on this site but soon after the purchase, they were transferred to Australia where they still live today. Sadly they have come to the realisation that their roots are now elsewhere and are very reluctantly hoping to find someone else to love this special site as much as they have.

Commando Rock or Creag na Speireig is a magical place, situated in a breath-taking position on the West Coast at Roshven between Lochailort and Glenuig on the Moidart Peninsula. This is a once in a lifetime piece of land which forms a private peninsula surrounded by the beautiful coastline of Loch Ailort and the Sound of Arisaig and unusually with land ownership down to the low water mark.

Commando Rock or or Creag na Speireig was named as such because, when the current vendor spent time there as a child more than 50 years ago, there were still several improvised ladders leaning against an imposing rock outcrop, made from felled pine trees. These were created during the Commando training in WW2 to scale the dramatic outcrop which is called “Crag of the sparrow hawk” and which dramatically frames this site. The Victorian artist Jemima Blackburn/Wedderburn was a previous own
