Pitcairlie House
Picairlie House is a predominantly Georgian House together with a 14th century tower and a beautifully proportioned front façade. Whilst the A-listed house has been modernised throughout, it has kept many of its period features including decorative cornicing, working shutters and open fireplaces in the reception rooms. Other features include the bar room with a barrel-vaulted ceiling, the wonderful open plan country kitchen with a fitted new electric Aga and fitted units by Ashley Ann. French doors lead from the kitchen to a wonderful Amdega conservatory. Upstairs the drawing room is a stunning bow ended room in the French Rococo style with ornate cornicing, wood panelling together with an elaborately carved fireplace and pastoral panels in the Watteau-revival manner. Virtually all of the rooms of the house have good views overlooking the garden policies or the surrounding countryside.
