This fine detached Victorian house is the largest individual property in the village and has fine decorative red brick elevations under a slate roof is justifiably listed Grade II as being of architectural interest. The accommodation is arranged over three stories and was subject to renovation in the early 2000’s since when the current owners have further enhanced the house.
The property is located towards the south east of the village and set within a generous plot extending to about 1.75 acres. There are some notable rooms in this substantial house and some fine period features including original fireplaces, high ceilings, working shutters, decorative coving and architraves and some lovely original wood stripped floors. On the ground floor of particular note is the main reception hall which provides a superb space, with the kitchen, study, dining room, high specification cinema room and elegant drawing room leading from it and the rooms on the southern side enjoy lovely views over the garden and hills beyond. On the first floor are 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms and the 2nd floor provides a flat with kitchen, 3 bedrooms, sitting, dining room and bathroom.

The house is approached from the village road via a spacious private gravelled drive with plenty of parking for several cars. To one side of the drive is access to the coach house, now converted and providing 2 reception rooms, kitchen, 2 bedrooms and bathroom. There is also access to the integral garage serving the main house. To the west of the house a gate and old brick wall screen the garden beyond in which is a superb hard tennis court on the boundary adjacent to a covered seating area on the western flank wall of the house.
