The spectacular rolling, and sometimes dramatic, landscape of the Cheviot Hills offers unrivalled scenic beauty and the area is renowned for its wealth of sporting and recreational opportunities with a strong equestrian tradition.
The Scottish Borders offer some of the finest fishing in Britain on the Rivers Tweed and Teviot, with a wide variety of other sporting activities including game shooting, cycling, riding and golf. Located approximately 9 miles to the northwest of Gateshaw House is the championship Roxburghe course. Kelso Racecourse hosts 15 National Hunt race meetings each season and there are local point-to-point meetings.
