Marchburn lies to the North of Kenmore approximately 1 mile from the historic conservation village of Fortingall in central Perthshire. This village is renowned for its ancient Yew Tree which is thought to be over 5000 years old. The picturesque village of Kenmore lies to the South on the shores of Loch Tay, with a primary school, village shops, restaurants, and post office. There are several historical buildings such as Kenmore Hotel, Taymouth Castle and Kenmore Church in the area. For most daily requirements, the Victorian town of Aberfeldy is situated to the East with banking and comprehensive medical services including a cottage hospital, cinema, a wide selection of individual shops, delicatessens, bakeries, art galleries and a leisure centre with swimming pool. For schooling, Breadalbane Academy in Aberfeldy provides secondary education, and there is a school bus running from Fortingall to the school.
