Description

Saracens House is a delightful detached property of immense
character and charm that has been significantly improved and
updated both internally and externally by the current owners.

The original part of the property dates back to the 16th century and over the centuries has seen a number of additions, and now provides flexible and spacious accommodation.

The ground floor flows effortlessly and has some beautiful rooms and features. The reception hall has a rustic flagstone floor and leads to the main reception rooms.

The drawing room has a large bay window that overlooks the gardens, a lovely parquet floor and pretty fireplace (currently not working). The dining room is situated in the oldest part of the property and has a large open fireplace, wood panelled walls and exposed floorboards. It leads to the sitting room which has a cosy feel with a wood burning stove making it a great room in the winter months.

The kitchen/breakfast room has been completely re-modelled and is now a light and spacious room with a two oven Aga situated at one end with an open fire at the other.

The first floor accommodation is accessed from two staircases one at either end of the property. The master bedroom has generous proportions and offers views across the gardens and beyond. There are a further five bedrooms, three comfortable doubles and two good sized singles. The two bathrooms have been updated and both offer separate baths and showers, ideal for a large family.

The property is accessed through double iron gates. The gravel driveway offers plenty of parking and leads to two garages. There is a stable that is currently used as a log store and a large outbuilding has been converted into a spacious home office with broadband connection.

The gardens at Saracens House are a superb feature and extend to approximately 1.09 acres with plenty of diversity that would interest any garden enthusiast. Two areas are currently used for growing fruit and vegetables and there are outbuildings that can store tools and gardening equipment. The current owners have a chicken run and there is plenty of room for them to roam freely. The formal lawns are well kept and level. Flower and shrub borders provide plenty of colour.

The gardens are edged by mature trees that ensure privacy and a large terrace offers the perfect setting for alfresco dining.

Please see floor plan for layout and room dimensions.
