Wardend has an idyllic rural countryside location, with beautiful open views and a feeling of space and privacy. The house and grounds are approached by the private unmade drive way. There is a traditional detached four bedroom farmhouse with an array of outbuildings. Having been in the same family for many decades the farmhouse is a beautiful building with generous accommodation spanning over two levels. The stable block has provided comfortable stabling for horses over the years and the paddock and fields have been regularly used in the past by the family. Adjacent to the U shaped stables, there is a large agricultural store, piggery, detached bothy, agricultural shelter and garage. The outbuildings do require some degree of upgrading and will all be sold as seen. However the property does offer any buyer a superb opportunity to develop what is on site already to their own requirements.
Farmhouse – Built circa 1900 the farmhouse still retains many fine original period features including high ceiling, ornate fireplaces, ceiling cornice and deep skirting’s,. With a handsome frontage consisting of two double bay windows and a bay porch front entrance the front of the house has a commanding vista. The two public rooms overlook the front garden and are both equally sizeable with fireplaces to both. Moving through the ground floor, there is a large walk in store, sizeable pantry cupboard and shower room before reaching the dining kitchen and sun lounge. The kitchen has been well appointed with a range of wall and base mounted units with Corian worktops. The large range cooker will remain as part of the sale. The sunroom offers a cosy room to enjoy the garden views. With many properties of this style, there are ample utility and store rooms. Leading off the kitchen a large utility room which gives access to the rear driveway, and a second utility space, and two store room’s lead onto the coal shed and a second exterior door access. On the upper level, the mezzanine floor gives access to the family bathroom and large double bedroom.
