Owners Comments

Harbridge is a peppering of households and farms in the Avon Valley between

Ringwood and Fordingbridge to the west of the river. North End Park sits south

facing in close to four acres on rising ground with aspects in all directions and sublime

views across the valley to the New Forest. For 35 years we have enjoyed the comfort

of our Georgian-style family home, built as the Dower House for the Somerley Estate.

Highlights include a Christmas tree in the double-height hallway, and from late

December the grounds bloom with carpets of snowdrops, joined in January by the

crocus and later followed by the daffodils. Ultimately through to the late autumn

drifts of cyclamen flourish. There is never a month without some colour in the garden.

Camellias aplenty. Wisteria on the front wall of the house. Lockdown has taught us

the virtues of a home for all seasons, with fast internet connection and the ability to

work remotely. Our studio in the garden, a converted cart shed, has hosted people

from all over the world for residential and day courses for Ikebana, the Japanese art

of flower arranging. We are sad to leave and wish the new custodians as much

happiness as we have had here. They will find peace, space, comfort, warmth, views

and intimacy, not to mention a friendly and supportive village, walks in the New Forest on the doorstep and easy access to the Dorset coast.

Agents Comments

North End Park has been a real honour for me as an agent, not least the fact this

remarkable and inspiring home has been in the family for over 35 years. I can really

feel the wonderful memories this home offers - every time you return you feel a great

sense of joy, and when I speak with the owners they are so truly proud of their home

and gardens. I'm sure the next owners will enjoy this gem just as much.
