THE OWNER'S WORDS
In the 11 years since we have lived here we still admire the ever-changing views during the seasons, the amazing sunrises and sunsets and our furry friends who visit us, including deer on the Killiow Estate and two pheasants that wander around our garden.
It's a real family home and a great place to entertain either inside or out on the patio, a perfect place for a big party with the hot tub on. With no near neighbours in sight you feel like you have the world to yourself yet within 3 miles and 5 minutes you are in the heart of Truro city. Launching our boat at Loe Beach is so easy too with just an 8-minute drive which we will miss. It's easy to live here and every room gets used, compact yet lots of open space living.
We've grown lots of vegetables in our little allotment and have all day sun in the greenhouse for the chilli plants and tomatoes. In the surrounding fields we are always trying to guess which vegetables will be planted next season from cabbages, cauliflower and even daffodils. Whenever we drive from the roundabout at the top of lemon street towards Falmouth we look across and say, " that's our house on the top of the hill!” Completely on its own and standing majestically for the world to see, we will very much miss you, but we have great memories.
PROPERTY
Built in 2005, this fantastic 4/5 bedroom detached home offers spacious and versatile accommodation, stunning views and a rural yet convenient position near Truro. In addition to the main house there is a double garage with adjoining utility/storage, a luxury one bedroom flat above and a separate summerhouse, all of which is privately set within grounds of approx. 1 acre backing onto rolling countryside.
A bright galleried hallway creates a welcoming entrance which gives access to a well-proportioned, triple aspect living room which is centred around an attractive wood burner. Double doors to the patio and engineered oak flooring, which continues through the hall and kitchen/diner offers a very comfortable to feel to the room. Across the hall is a dual aspect study to the front which could certainly be a fifth bedroom for a ground floor option.
A couple of steps form a slight split level to the ground floor and lead down to the kitchen/diner, which is yet another beautifully bright triple aspect room aided by double doors to the patio with adjacent tall windows, further side windows enjoy countryside views. The L-shaped kitchen with central island and breakfast bar with a polished granite worktop is a wonderfully sociable space and focal point of the home. Shaker style wall and painted base units with an oak worktop offer a traditional style with a contemporary twist. Appliances include an Aga Masterchef Range cooker with extractor over and integrated dishwasher and fridge/freezer. Adjoining the kitchen is a rear entrance with a spacious utility/boot room. Further is a well-appointed w/c.
