Rennyhill House sits on the edge of Kilrenny village with rural views to the East Neuk of Fife, just a mile from the attractive coastal town of Anstruther.

Rennyhill is an impressive Georgian family home situated close to the Fife coastline with wonderful rural views. The B-listed property has accommodation over three storeys including 2 reception rooms, 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. Surrounding the house there are formal gardens laid to lawn including an attractive walled garden together with a summerhouse and garage. The policies extend to about 0.53 acres in total. The house faces south with excellent natural light in all the rooms.

The property has also recently received planning and listed building consent to add a two storey extension to the eastern gable providing a new dining kitchen, reception room, two bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor. (See planning for further details).

Rennyhill House
The house is approached off the main road via a gated entrance and a large gravel parking area to the side. The B-listed Georgian Mansion is of dressed sandstone construction beneath a pitched slate roof. Internal features include the sash-and-case windows throughout, most with working shutters, ornate cornicing and the original stone staircase. Benefitting from oil central heating, gas range cooker and gas fires, the accommodation is laid out over three storeys as follows:

Ground Floor: entrance hall, W.C, dining room, kitchen, utility room and rear porch

First Floor: landing, snug, drawing room, master bedroom with ensuite bathroom

Second Floor: landing, two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, further bedroom and family bathroom, walk in linen cupboard

Third Floor: sitting room, kitchenette, two bedrooms and family bathroom

Gardens and Outbuildings
To the rear of the house there is a double garage with roller door and an adjacent workshop. There is a front garden laid to lawn bordered by a leylandii hedge. There is also an attractive walled garden with planted borders, specimen trees complete with a Summerhouse. There is flood lighting to the rear of the house.

Historical Note
The Royal Burgh of Kilkenny was more than the present village; it extended for about 3 miles along the coastline of the East Neuk. Bounded on the west by Anstruther and Carnbee, on the north by Carnbee and Crail, on the east by Crail and on the south by the Firth of Forth. The parish included what is now Cellardyke and until 1641 Anstruther Easter. Rennyhill is that part of Kilrenny to the west and north west and includes the Skeith Stone, a listed monument located in the field adjoining Rennyhill Farm buildings.

In 1996 the present owners converted the top floor attic into a 2 bedroom self-contained flat with kitchenette and bathroom.

Finally, the owners decided they would like to rebuild the east wing removed in 1970 with a like for like replacement in the footprint of the original. The availability of photographs from 1950 helped with the application for planning permission and listed building consent made in 2018 by a local architect.

Rennyhill House sits on the edge of Kilrenny Village with rural views to the East Neuk of Fife, just a mile from the attractive coastal town of Anstruther. The East Neuk of Fife stretches from Largo Bay round to St Andrews and boasts a number of traditional fishing villages, sandy beaches and fertile farmland.

The charming village of Anstruther provides for local services including shops, supermarkets, highly regarded restaurants, a primary school and Wait Academy, one of the top performing secondary schools in the country. More extensive services can be found in the historic University town of St Andrews.
