Blaisdon Hall

Surrounded by its own parkland, Blaisdon Hall is situated in a glorious private position with outstanding and far reaching panoramic views to the southeast over its own land and the Severn valley.

The Hall is approached from Blaisdon Lane through the electric gates of the Gatehouse and over a long, sweeping tarmacadam drive, flanked by park railings that winds up through the parkland to the House.

Constructed of stone under slate roofs, Blaisdon Hall is a magnificent Grade II* listed Victorian mansion with Jacobean influences that provides elegant and grand accommodation over three floors.

A triple arched porte-cochère presents double doors that lead through into the vestibule, further double doors incorporating impressive stained glass window panes (a common feature throughout the house) lead through and into the first reception room. The Great Hall is a well proportioned room, housing a splendid stone chimneypiece.

Positioned off The Great Hall is the grand oak staircase, and corridor that runs across the south side of the house; from this the drawing room, music room and orangery can all be accessed.
Along the west side of the house are the sitting room, playroom, two studies and dining room, and main Kitchen.

On the east side, the morning room leads off from the great hall; further along this corridor is the leisure wing with an impressive library, billiards room and bar, gymnasium (with changing room and showers) and steam room and sauna.

First Floor
The grand carved oak staircase rises up past the light well to an impressive ballroom (over 85ft long). The ballroom leads off to both the first tower room and down into the entertainment lounge.
There are three principal bedroom suites on the first floor, all with en suite bathrooms and dressing rooms, plus a fourth bedroom and separate bathroom. A two bedroom staff flat is located over the billiard room.

Second Floor
On the second floor is a large (over 85 ft) entertaining room/gallery from which the tower rooms lead up to the top of the turret with its breath taking 360o rural views. From the other end of the entertainment area stairs lead down to the games room. There are a further three large bedroom suits.

Outbuildings
The Coach House stands to the northwest of the Hall. It comprises two offices, store rooms (formerly stables), cart sheds, a machinery store and two Flats all set around a central cobbled Courtyard.

The Garage Block stands to the west and offers a Cottage, garaging for at least five cars with additional storage, and the generator house with its independent power supply.

To the north of these buildings are the large ancillary storage buildings.

There are four ranges of timber stables to the west of the house consisting of twelve boxes, a feed room and a tack room - with mains electricity and water, plus access down to two barns and various paddocks in the parkland.

The Gatehouse
The impressive stone and tiled Gatehouse, built in 1894, guards the main entrance to Blaisdon Hall with electrically operated period iron gates. It comprises three bedrooms, kitchen, sitting room and bathroom, plus a large garden.

Gardens and Grounds
To the west and south of the house are stone-paved sun terraces, terraced lawns, ornamental fish ponds paths leading to less formal areas of the garden with a large variety of mature shrubs and specimen trees. To the south and beyond the original stone balustrade, sits the pond with island for nesting wildfowl and swans. The rolling parkland interspersed with fine trees lies directly beyond, leading the eye across spectacular, unspoiled and far reaching panoramic views.

Blaisdon Hall is framed to the north by a bank of mixed woodland including mature oak, ash, sycamore, beech and larger plantations of conifers. There are a number of private paths through the woodland. The secondary drive to the property runs west to Velthouse Lane, from which there is also private agricultural access to the parkland.
