Winterbourne House is a most attractive period country house, beautifully presented throughout and combining stylish modern living with period features. The accommodation, arranged over 3 floors, is light and airy, with a large entrance hall opening onto the elegant drawing room. From here, as well as from the playroom and boot room, French doors lead out to the garden and terrace. There is a well fitted kitchen with Aga and electric oven and hob, and the breakfast room, with its exposed brick and stone walls, enjoys views over pastureland. There is stone flooring throughout the entrance hall, kitchen, playroom and boot room, and the ground floor as a whole benefits from wet-system underfloor heating.

To the first floor are three-four well-proportioned bedrooms, one of which is served by a Jack and Jill shower room leading to a dressing room or fourth bedroom. The remaining bedrooms are served by the family bathroom and there is also a comfortable study with far-reaching views to the hills.
Of particular note is the fabulous principal bedroom suite which occupies the entire second floor, and which commands stunning views to both the north and south. There is a dressing area with a good range of wardrobes which leads through to the adjoining bathroom, complete with roll top bath, separate 'wet room' shower, and underfloor heating.

The house is wired throughout with Cat5 ethernet cabling, and the village benefits from superfast broadband.

The studio was constructed by the current owner and provides a stunning double height space with vaulted ceiling and full height window on the northern elevation. Internally there is an attractive kitchenette, WC, storeroom and state of the art heat recovery ventilation system. The studio would be suitable for a variety of uses such as a home office, gym, yoga studio, party barn, or indeed a self-contained annex (subject to the usual planning consents).

Whilst the front elevation of the house is constructed of mellow red brick typical of the early nineteenth century, the rear is of flint and sarsen and, with its shutters and pretty dormer windows, has the feel of a period French villa. In front of the studio is a gravelled driveway providing ample parking. The attractive gardens to the front and side of the house are laid mainly to lawn, and to the rear is a large patio from which to enjoy sunsets over the hills. From there a small foot bridge crosses a winterbourne, beyond which is a public foot path and a 1 acre field belonging to the house.

Services
Mains water, electricity and drainage. Oil heating.
