Planning History

Outline planning permission was granted in 2000 for a hotel/motel conference centre with leisure and recreation facilities under planning reference 7/1999/0193/DM, with a subsequent reserved matter application granted permission in 2003.

Newton Aycliffe is a New Town in County Durham which was founded in 1947. It has a population of approximately 26,633. The town centre has undergone a multi-million pound redevelopment over recent years and Aycliffe Business Park to the south and west of the site is the second largest industrial estate in the North East region. The property is situated to the south of Aycliffe Village, to the east of Aycliffe Business Park and directly north of the proposed Forest Park major commercial development.
