Description

The Chapel dates from 1843 having been built as a Methodist Chapel and constructed of sandstone beneath a slate roof. The building was extended and renovated in 2004 to a high standard and subsequently remodelled by the current owners in 2009. The Chapel now provides a highly individual and impressive family home, designed with modern day open plan living in mind, taking full advantage of the elevated position and magnificent views across the Cheshire Plain and Peckforton Hills. In addition, Planning Application No. 19/04450/FUL was approved in April 2020 for the extension and remodelling of the lower ground floor, creating a further bedroom and study.

A set of wooden double doors lead into the original Chapel porch with tiled floor and stained-glass trim beneath the eaves. The porch extends into the main landing from which the master bedroom & family bathroom are accessed along with stairs to both the lower ground & first floors. To the left of the landing is the family bathroom, designed by Zest Bathrooms, which contains fully tiled walls and floor, free standing bath, low flush w.c, twin built-in hand basins, heated towel rail and a large tiled shower area with Hans Grohe fittings throughout. The master bedroom is a large double room with twin aspect over the garden and adjoining countryside with bench seats beneath both windows and an Esse log burner within a sandstone fireplace. It has the benefit of a large walk-in wardrobe with fitted shelving and oak flooring.

A set of stairs lead down to the lower ground floor from which access is gained to the guest bedroom, study and principal entertaining and living space. To the left, is the guest bedroom which is large double room with floor to ceiling window and two sets of built in cupboards. Adjacent to the guest bedroom is the study which contains tv/internet connection points and fitted shelving; The study could be used as a playroom or additional bedroom if required. To the right of the staircase the main living space is accessed, firstly with a library area which contains fitted bookshelves and gives access to the open plan kitchen / living / dining area, utility room and a large storage area with fitted shelving. The living space comprises a large seating area, dining area and fitted kitchen complimented by two sets of bi-fold doors opening to the garden and barbecue area. Both bifold doors open fully, and have the benefit of the impressive views. Adjacent to the parking area is a pedestrian gate with small grassed paddock presently fenced off for free range chickens and to the side of which is a wood chip path leading up to an elevated garden area with timber summerhouse/shed/woodstore which benefits from a west facing aspect taking advantage of the views over both the Cheshire Plain and Wales, and the evening sun.
