Family home in the country with stables and 5 acres of gardens and grazing

Description

Oakwood was once three cottages but was converted into a superb family house by the previous owners. It sits in a popular rural, yet highly accessible, location. While the house has a countryside setting, with beautiful outlooks over the neighbouring fields, it offers excellent commuting links across central Scotland. The accommodation is well-presented throughout, and the gardens surrounding the house are extensive and mature. There is the benefit of a paddock, to the north of the house, with a stable block.

The front door leads into the utility room, off which there is a useful shower room. The kitchen / family room is beyond and has been upgraded by the current owners to include an electric four door AGA set into a brick surround. There is a central breakfasting island with granite surface, Belfast sink and a range of integrated appliances. The family area has a wood burning stove and patio doors. A short corridor leads to the adjacent dining room which also has a wood burning stove, and a door into the garden. The sitting room has a Jetmaster fire and windows on three aspects overlooking the gardens, and doors leading outside.

A separate corridor from the dining room leads to the ground floor bedrooms. There are four, all overlooking the garden, but one is currently used as a study. The end bedroom has an en suite shower room and there is also a family bathroom on the ground floor. Upstairs there is a seating area on the landing which opens up onto the balcony overlooking the garden and with views to the hills beyond. There is a further bedroom with coombed ceilings, large Velux windows and an en suite bathroom.

There are large lawned areas to both the front and rear of the house. The gardens are surrounded by hedges, well-stocked flower beds and mature trees. Beyond the rear garden is the paddock, offering excellent grazing. This is flanked by woodland which runs along the north east boundary. There is also a polytunnel.

The current owners have created stabling to the side of the house, with easy access to the paddock. The stable has two loose boxes and a large space for storage to the side. Next to it sits the double garage. There is also a large parking area to the side of the house.
